Calculating the Availability of Services

Do you ever need to estimate the uptime and SLA of a compund service you create by combining services with various guaranteed availabilities? In this session you may learn how to do this in order to meet the rising demand from our users for SLAs for our services. If your service for instance depends on two services with guaranteed availabilities of 99,5% and 99,9%, what is then the resulting guaranteed availability? This and related issues regarding availability calculations is treated in this talk, which is has a theoretical approach to the subject, but is based on empirical data from the Danish NREN.
