Deploying OpenFlow in production at the University of the Basque Country: Identity based network infrastructure configuration.

This paper introduces the OpenFlow Enabled Facility deployed at the University of the Basque Country by the I2T research group in cooperation with University IT services. The EHU-OEF infrastructure is presented and some security aspects are described. Specifically, how the IEEE 802.1X standard is used to authenticate and authorize the access to available services and resources and corresponding OpenFlow switches configuration. This is done using a REST dialog between AuthZ and our NoX controller.Additionally a disruptive experiment which is running over the infrastructure is presented .
