All your WIFI are belong to us Save to my Google calendar

Wireless access to data has become a vital asset at many, if not all, universities and research institutes in Europe and beyond. eduroam is the de-facto standard to facilitate access to WiFi across campuses all over the planet. eduroam is slowly becoming available also on off-campus locations, such as municipal WiFi systems in several European towns. There is however a clear lack of connectivity to one's university when leaving the WiFi hotspots - often, 3G fills in the gap but is of commercial quality, not tailored to education and research.
This session will present two enhancements to the existing eduroam infrastructure; one for end users (an eduroam Companion app for Android) and one for campus administrators, the eduroam Configuration Assistant Tool (CAT). The third presentation will show work that has been done to deliver campus-grade wireless connectivity via the upcoming mobile communication technolog LTE in conjunction with eduroam.
