Bruno Hoeft studied Computer Science at the university of applied science at Darmstadt, Germany. He joined as an engineer in 1989 the Kernforschungszentrum Karlsruhe. From 1994 to 2002 he was for diaconal/social purposes on a leave of absence. During this time he supported in Nepal a medical mission organization in the setup of the IT infrastructure and in China he lectured at the Yanbian University of Science & Technology. From 2002 back at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology he designed the network of the German LHC Tier-1 Centre and was involved in the design of the LHCOPN. After the merging of the University Karlsruhe with the Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe to the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology he has taken responsibility of the design and deployment of the general network infrastructure of KIT.
