Marco Sommani coordinates the team that manages the network of the campus of CNR (National Research Council) in Pisa, Italy. His team has been experimenting IPv6 since 2002. Early in 2010 dual stack has been enabled all over the campus network. His involvement in networking began in 1976, when he participated in the software development of a packet switching networking solution, named RPCNET. He has been active since the very beginning in the deployment and coordination of research networking in Europe and in Italy. Since 2011 he chairs the Italian Chapter of the IPv6 Forum.
