Video reports from TNC2012 now online

The first of a series of short videos from the TERENA Networking Conference (TNC2012) is now available on the 'TERENATube' www.youtube.com/user/terenatube and the ‘Social’ web page http://www.terena.org/social.

The videos are being created by a team of students who are completing their Master degrees in Journalism and Mass Communication within the School of Social Sciences at the University of Iceland. Helga Mjöll Stefánsdóttir, Guðmundur Heiðar Helgason, and Benedikt Grétarsson worked in cooperation with TERENA Communications and RHnet, the Icelandic research and education networking organisation, to arrange interviews and record footage for the TNC2012 reports.

TNC2012 Theme: "Networking to Services"

Networks have evolved from a narrow role of moving data between computers to being enablers of our digital lives. Networks enable researchers and students to form global communities, with shared resources and shared goals, liberated from geographical restrictions. TNC2012 will focus on network technologies and the applications that support research and education, examining the areas, ‘future networks’, ‘supporting collaborations and advanced applications’, ‘communities and identities’ and ‘digital lifestyle’.
